Google Analytic
What is Google analytics?
Analytics is critical to your internet marketing strategy. It lets you measure who comes to your web site, where they came from, and what they do when they get there. Those are the three basics of Observe And Adjust.Out of all the web site statistics tools I have looked at and checked out for some reason I keep coming back to Google Analytics. There is plenty to come back for, as it is the most in-depth free web site stats package you are going to find, and ofcourse it's free. You may ask me why isn't every marketer on earth using it?i hear some people saying it is very difficult. But when talk with a webmaster about it he told that, they dont have time because they have alot of website to create and monitor.
what is the importance of Google Analytics?
Being able to access relevant data about your website visitors is important because it will allow you address a range of marketing issues, relating both to your website and your business as a whole. You will be able to track online and offline marketing campaigns, understand what customers and prospective customers are looking for and pinpoint areas of your website that need improvement.
Understanding and utilising relevant analytics about your website visitors will allow you to make your website work harder for you, increase your ROI, generate more sales leads and allow you to better allocate resources.
Access to visitors statistics is one thing, but the true value of analytics come in the form of analysis and action. Improvements to your website should come out of a defined process and a decision based on information and knowledge. Analytics allows you to make those decisions and then measure the results.
Sure some of the features give you more information that you probably need but better to have more than not enough. To help those who still have butterflies in their bellies - here is a step by step guide to get you going.
1) Go to the Google Analytics web site and sign up for an account or login with your Google login details. You already have a Google account, right? Post login, click on the “setup” button to get going with the setup process.
2)Next you load up a screen that wants you to put in some information about your web site. Type in your domain name, account name and set your time preferences. The account name will be the group name for the series of web sites you use Google Analytics on.
3)The next page wants you to put in your contact information. If you don’t want to do this - just select your country and you should be good to go to the next step.
4)One of the last pages you will see is Google’s terms of service and legal agreement. Skim through it, read it if you want to. I know your probably not going to though. Click the “I agree” check mark box and move on.
5)The last step gives you a ‘bit of javascript to cut and paste onto all of your web pages that you want to track. Just copy it from there and paste it into your web site. Get past that step and your done! You have successfully setup Google Analytics.
